Real Estate Broker
As a Realtor since 2000 and a Broker since 2006 in the Austin area, I have developed negotiating skills through extensive training and real life experiences while still being able to maintain a trustworthy position with clients and Realtors. Involved with numerous transactions including residential homes, investment properties, condos, vacant lots, acreage, small developments and commercial transactions gives me a vast amount of knowledge that I gladly share with my clients.
As a former property owner in the Lakeway area for over 9 years, I specialized in the lake area in helping buyers and sellers. My transactions included anyone from first time homebuyers to those clients looking for a second home. For sellers, I am familiar with the market and the area agents so I am able to help build a unique marketing plan around their property to get their home sold with the sellers objectives in mind.
Recently I purchased a condo in downtown Austin and relocated my family in the summer 2008. I am intrigued by our changing market and because of this have put a lot of effort into researching all of the downtown condo projects going up around me. I have become a downtown specialist and can help buyers determine which project fits their needs the best based on their situation. I have also helped clients buy and sell homes in the SOCO area, Tarry Town, Brykerwoods, Rosewood as well as other central Austin neighborhoods. I am becoming a central Austin specialist and can help determine the right fit for a buyer based on different areas in regards to location, schools, type of homes available, price ranges, distance to eating and shopping, etc.
I achieved a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and continue to educate myself by taking advanced negotiating, marketing, technology and sales training to stay ahead of the typical Realtor. In 2007 I achieved the CRS designation and the GRI designation. The CRS designation is the highest designation a Residential Realtor can achieve and I am proud that I achieved this designation.

Janell Hatley– Client Care Assistant
Janell comes to Modern Urban Realty with many years of experience working in Human Resources and being an office manager. She brings her knowledge and strength in customer service, problem solving and leadership to the team. Janell is looking forward to the opportunity to work with Michelle and servicing all of Modern Urban Realty clients.
Janell and her husband moved to Austin in November, 2007 from Houston. She understands the stress and what it takes to relocate from another city. Janell is enjoying Austin and the people while learning about all that Austin has to offer. Janell is also enjoying spending time with her two youngest grandchildren.
Don Hatley- Modern Urban Realty Courier
Don retired after working several years in the insurance industry as an auditor. Don now works for the City of Austin part time as a crossing guard as well as the courier for Modern Urban Realty. Don is the friendly face you can expect to see if you need checks picked up, flyers delivered or a document dropped off.
Don enjoys meeting new people and has a personality that you can't help to like. Don is outgoing and is looking forward to meeting all of Modern Urban Realty's clients.
